SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The National Forensic Centre (NFC) of the Swedish Police Authority is privileged to welcome you to the EAFS 2022 Conference in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference will take place in the city centre of Stockholm giving you the opportunity to explore the capital of Sweden during your stay. Stockholm is a city that provides attractions for all visitors.

During the conference, you are invited by the City of Stockholm to a reception at the City Hall of Stockholm. The City Hall is commonly known as the venue of the Nobel Prize Banquet which is held on 10th of December every year. You will enjoy the conference dinner at the Vasa Museum which offers a unique atmosphere. Vasa was a battleship that capsized on its maiden voyage in Stockholm in 1628. The ship was salvaged in 1961. Today, Vasa is the world’s best preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia. The two evenings events will give you a flavour of the attractions of Stockholm.

Stockholm City Hall

The City of Stockholm is hosting a reception in Stockholm City Hall, most well-known for hosting the Nobel Prize banquet each year. The reception begins at 19.00, please be on time. A standing buffet will be served, and a guide will tell you more about the city hall during the evening.

The Vasa Museum

The conference dinner will take place next to the Vasa ship, the world’s only preserved 17th century ship in the most visited museum in Scandinavia. The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm in 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed, the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. A guided tour will be offered before the dinner.

To be noted: since the ship needs certain conditions to be preserved, the temperature in the building is kept to, at most 20 degrees Celsius.

We are looking forward to meeting You!
